Everything started in Italy in 1982, when a Mechanical Engineer, Gian Paolo Masotto, decided to build a kart for his brother, involved in a very important competition.
Gian Paolo started working out of a garage and soon created the first inclined Wheel Hub, which is used today by most kart manufacturers.
The karts he manufactured were both functional and powerful. In 1997, He decided to build chassis that will compete in both European and World race events. In 1995, the new official EKS logos were showing on all karts manufactured by Gian Paolo.

In 1997, EKS manufactured the first front brakes tongs that distributes the power between the front and rear brakes(Hydraulic). The next revolutionary design was the introduction of the Monoblock Brake Tongs

In 2007, EKS made its first foray into the American market with the establishment of EKS America, a company located in Allentown, Pennsylvania. EKS America will actively pursue establishing the marquee in the Kart racing circuit, and a dealer's network throughout the US.
